To all my readers, best wishes of the holiday season, including but not limited to Christmas, Hanukkah, Solstice, Saturnalia, Kwanzaa and Festivus. If you're not feeling especially joyful this year, or if forced gaiety has never been your style, then I hope you'll endure the most grimly satisfying or the least-bad Bah Humbug ever! Maybe, just maybe, world peace will actually get a chance in our lifetimes.
Hopefully, finally, God willing, we will all wake up tomorrow morning without being subjected to "the Christmas music" and can return our gifts in peace.
"Trump's holiday menu: handouts for billionaires, hunger for the poor — Republicans defend cuts to food stamps by saying that keeping people hungry will make them work harder. But we know this is just about cruelty."
George Harrison ~ "Beware Of Darkness" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LrxYds2UNE
Watch out now, take care Beware of falling swingers Dropping all around you The pain that often mingles In your fingertips Beware of darkness
Watch out now, take care Beware of the thoughts that linger Winding up inside your head The hopelessness around you In the dead of night
Beware of sadness It can hit you It can hurt you Make you sore and what is more That is not what you are here for
Watch out now, take care Beware of soft shoe shufflers Dancing down the sidewalks As each unconscious sufferer Wanders aimlessly Beware of Maya
Watch out now, take care Beware of greedy leaders They take you where you should not go While Weeping Atlas Cedars They just want to grow, grow and grow Beware of darkness
ReplyDeleteListening to those accents takes me back in time and place to the Boston-Philly cawridoohr. Merry Christmas, everybody.

ReplyDeleteHow about just one more song? I'm thinkin' this little ditty from 1977 is right up our alley here at Sardonicky. Merry Christmas, everyone!

Most excellent class-conscious song. Brings out the true spirit of Christmas IMHO, whether one leans religious or secular.

Watch out now, take care
Beware of falling swingers
Dropping all around you
The pain that often mingles
In your fingertips
Beware of darkness
Watch out now, take care
Beware of the thoughts that linger
Winding up inside your head
The hopelessness around you
In the dead of night
Beware of sadness
It can hit you
It can hurt you
Make you sore and what is more
That is not what you are here for
Watch out now, take care
Beware of soft shoe shufflers
Dancing down the sidewalks
As each unconscious sufferer
Wanders aimlessly
Beware of Maya
Watch out now, take care
Beware of greedy leaders
They take you where you should not go
While Weeping Atlas Cedars
They just want to grow, grow and grow
Beware of darkness
